Abstract|
Since 1980, energy transition has been the trend in the German energy industry. In particular, the share of renewable energy sources, such as wind, water and solar energy, has been increasing. Although these renewable energy sources are inexhaustible, they are also highly uncertain and have a great impact on the balance and security of the power grid. In this presentation, I will first introduce the policies that have been enacted in Germany in response to the energy transition and the coexistence of conventional and renewable energy sources. Then, I will introduce the application of Internet of Things in renewable energy, and the important role of Internet of Things in regulating the electricity market. Then, I will also introduce the German electricity market. Through various trading mechanisms in the electricity market, the supply and demand of electricity are balanced and grid stability is ensured.
